Then to Stirling Bridge the place where in 1297 forces led by William Wallace defeated English forces led by the 7th Earl of Surrey.
After some lunch, visit the Wallace Monument, perhaps climb the 246 steps to the top to take in more majestic views.
The final treat of the day is the award winning Battle of Bannockburn experience where in 1314 King Robert the Bruce led his army to defeat the forces led by King Edward II of England in a battle known as the First War of Scottish Independence.
