DAY ONE - For visitors starting from Glasgow or Stirling area, cross over the River Forth to Culross to see the Palace and town. Visitors from Edinburgh cross over the River Forth to North Queensferry to experience the Forth Rail Bridge from sea level. Then along the Fife Coastal Route taking in the many attractive fishing villages of Elie, St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther or Crail. Perhaps visit Scotlands Secret Bunker near Crail before lunch in St Andrews.
Spend some time exploring the many historic buildings, pubs, shops and galleries before a visit to the home of golf St Andrews Links.
We then cross the River Tay to Dundee before making our way to Pitlochry for your overnight accommodation.
DAY TWO - Royal Deeside. As the name suggests this area of Scotland is favoured by the Royal Family following the purchase of Balmoral Castle in 1852 by Prince Albert as a gift to Queen Victoria. Your journey from Pitlochry takes you through the high pass of Glenshee at 665 metres to the chocolate box towns and villages of Braemar, Crathie, Ballater, Aboyne and Banchory.
You may wish to visit Balmoral Castle, the Royal Deeside Railway or Royal Lochnagar Distillery, the choice is yours. Dunnottar Castle on the East Coast of Scotland is also a great place to visit before the return journey south to your chosen accommodation.
