From St Andrews travel along the East Coast (Neuk) of Fife, perhaps call in at Kingsbarns Distillery for a wee dram before visiting the beautiful fishing villages of Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem, St Monans or Elie.
The last stop of the day is Falkland Palace, a hunting lodge dating from the 12th century, transformed in 16th century into a remarkable Renaissance Palace.
Return via the Queensferry Crossing to see the UNESCO World Heritage Forth Bridge, a rail bridge opened in 1890 connecting Aberdeen and London, a distance of 534 miles. It truly is a sight to behold.
